Meet Jazz, the Golden celebrity canine, one of our DogStar Ambassadorables for the Mister Migs Denim Dogs Fashion Blast!
Movies, television, commercials, magazines---Jazz the Golden Retriever has done it all! We’re honored to have this dogstar celebrity strutting on our Mister Migs Denim Dogs Fashion Blast runway! Some of her film credits include Taking Chances, Hot Summer Nights, and Black Mountain. She’s also in the nationally syndicated TV show, Being Mary Jane, as the family dog.
Jazz comes from a champion Golden Retriever bloodline and was the proverbial “pick of the litter.” Like a typical Golden Retriever, Jazz loves people, playing, water, and running around using up her boundless energy. Although she is a golden girl today, success wasn’t handed to her on a silver platter. She was rehomed three times. Families adopted her due to her beauty and intelligence, but returned her because she was too high-energy. It took a special individual to recognize her capabilities. That individual was Trace Sargent, the owner of STAR K-9, a professional animal talent and wrangling agency. Trace recognized Jazz’s potential and became her third and final human mother. She knew that Jazz was destined to be a screen queen and not a couch potato.
According to Trace, “Being an animal actor is a real job. Jazz has to think and adapt, stay focused, and have the energy to repeat a scene over and over again.” Because of her high energy and intelligence, Trace has also trained Jazz in search and rescue skills. Jazz is really a superstar and superhero!
