When the holiday season rolls around, most of us prefer to spend it with family. Whether that means staying at home or making a long trip, we’re determined to be beside our loved ones. For some of us, this is the only time of the year that we can. But for many, it’s simply the only time of the year that we do. We pack up, get together, and consider our obligation towards family time fulfilled. But to a dog, there’s no such thing as an ‘obligation’ when it comes to love. Dogs adore their family year-round, and every day is an equal joy to them when their people are in it. Every single day when their people return home, the family dog is there, bouncing and barking and happy to see them.
What if we were more like our dogs? What if we didn’t save our affection for the holidays alone? What if we were always thrilled to see our family no matter the season? We just might be a whole lot happier. Our dogs certainly seem to be.
